RE-OPENING SATURDAY 4TH JULY
We are very excited to be able to re-open on the 4th July!
We are busy getting ready – staff training, moving tables, planning routes, organising screens, sanitiser points, putting up a small marquee and making the garden look pretty! There is a lot to do to make all the new systems work, to be Covid-19 safe, but for it still to look and feel like The Rockingham Arms.
We will be taking bookings from Monday (hopefully by then we will be organised!!) things will be a little different to before. We will ask you to be on time for your booking - please don’t come early as sadly we can no longer serve you drinks at the bar and we will be limited with places for you to sit.
We can book you in the marquee or in the little thatched hut outside but please bear in mind if the weather changes, we cannot guarantee a table inside. We will also be introducing a new outside table service, which will restrict the contact between customers and staff. We may need to ask you for more contact details as well.
We must limit times on the tables so we can ensure the pub stays viable - 2 hours for tables of two and 2 1/2 hours for larger tables. We need to give ourselves time between bookings to sanitise the table thoroughly. Also because of access and how we can serve you our largest table will now be an 8.
For now, we are only serving our main menu (and our set Sunday lunch menu) because with the new restrictions we must operate with less chefs in the kitchen. But once we get used to it, we will try our best to bring the set menus back in again.
It is always also our responsibility for the safety of everyone to ensure social distancing and appropriate behaviour - if this isn’t adhered too, we will have to ask you to leave the premises. Police and local authorities will be enforcing this.
So, all sorts of new things to take into account - please be patient with us - it’s all new to us as well. But we will do our absolute best to ensure you have a lovely time.
Can’t wait to see you when the bunting is up – the garden and pub is open and the drinks are flowing (responsibly!!).
Take care, stay safe,
Liz and all of us at The Rockingham
Built in 1840, The Rockingham Arms is a cosy old village pub full of character.
Traditional values and a warm welcome, serving comforting home cooked food, real ales, great wines and good coffee.
And our back garden leads straight onto the beautiful Canada Common, a National Heritage area.
We are a very dog friendly pub, and happy to take bookings in the Bar area for you and your 4 legged friends.
